In this six year long case filed with the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination (MCAD), Attorney Chelsea Choi argued that the Complainant experienced sexual harassment, retaliation, violation of the Massachusetts Parental Leave Act, gender discrimination, and pregnancy discrimination while employed at Caregivers of Massachusetts, LLC. On December 19, 2022, MCAD issued its final decision ordering Caregivers of Massachusetts to conduct a training for all employees that would focus on disability discrimination and retaliation. In addition, the Complainant was awarded over $130,000 from their former employee for lost wages plus interest, and $30,000 for emotional distress, plus interest.
